Makes a blanket about 20" square. Just the right size to keep baby warm in their car seat without creating extra bulk..
Pattern:
Ch 40.
1st row: sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1. *Skip next ch. sc in next ch. Ch 1. Rep from * to end of chain. Turn.
2nd row: Sc in first sc. Ch 1. *Sc in next ch-1 sp. Ch 1. Skip next sc. Rep from * to last sc. 1 sc in last sc. Ch 1.Turn.
Rep 2nd row until work from beg measures 19" or desired length. Turn.
Edging: *Ch 3, sl st in ch 1 (picot made), sc in next 2 ch sp. Rep from * to end of row. Continue edging around the next side. Here you'll make the stitches in the gaps along the edge. Space them as evenly as you can. Continue onto the third side where you'll make the stitches in the ch sp. Continue edging on the fourth side where again you'll make the stitches in the gaps along the edge. Fasten off.
