Frilly Crochet Scarf In Sashay Yarn

Frilly Crochet Scarf

My daughter sees this scarf at our local yarn store. she takes it off the stand and says "Ooh I like this." A sales assistant walking past hears her and says "Well you'll have to learn how to make one." Sam replied: "Mum!!!!!!"

So here's her scarf.

The yarn was Red Heart Boutique Sashay Sequins. It looks like a normal ball of yarn. You look closer and it looks like ribbon. When you unravel the ball it is actually a 2" wide mesh strip full of holes with a sequined edging. You use one row of the holes to crochet with.

I have to say the pattern was easy but the yarn is very frustrating and difficult to work with. I'm glad I was making a scarf and not a blanket!

I made another one of these using the Sashay Sparkle yarn. I used one less chain in each row and used a smaller hook. This one came out better. It is longer and narrower and the yarn is softer than the Sequin yarn.
