Baby Headband - Flower and Shells

MATERIALS:

# 4 yarn

I (5.5mm) Hook

SIZE:

Headband: Adjustable 12” – 15”  

Instructions:

Headband:

Chain 55.

Row 1. SC in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. 54 sts.

Row 2. Turn, ch 1, *sc, skip next stitch, 4 dc in next stitch (4 dc shell), skip next st** Repeat from * to ** to end.

Row 3. Working on the other side of the chain, ch 1, *sc, skip next stitch, 4 dc in next stitch (4 dc shell), skip next stitch** Repeat from * to ** to end. Fasten off and weave in ends.

5 Petal Flower:

Rnd 1. Magic ring. Ch 2, dc 9 in the ring. Join with Sl st in the first stitch.

Rnd 2. *Ch 3, 3 tr in same stitch, ch 3, join with Sl st in next st* x 5. Bring the yarn to the back side of the flower and attach it to the headband.

6 Petal Flower:

Rnd 1. Magic ring. Ch 2, dc 11 in the ring. Join with Sl st in the first stitch.

Rnd 2. *Ch 3, 3 tr in same stitch, ch 3, join with Sl st in same st* x 6. Bring the yarn to the back side of the flower and attach it to the headband.

Finishing:

Sew a button to one end. Use the spaces between the stitches as a buttonhole; the headband can therefore be adjusted to any size head.
