Crochet Soap Sack

Sack size 3in wide x 4in tall. To fit a bar of soap 2¼ x 2¾ x 1in

Materials

#3 cotton yarn

4.5mm crochet hook

 

Abbreviations

ch = chain

sc = single crochet

sl st = slip stitch

sts = stitches

 

Instructions

Bag

Ch 18 

Work in continuous rounds.

Rnd 1: sc in 3rd ch from hook, *ch 2, skip 2 chs, sc in next ch. Repeat from * to last ch. sc, ch 2, sc in last ch.

Turn to work in other side of chain. *ch 2, skip 2 chs, sc in next ch. Repeat from * to last ch. sc, ch 2, sc in last ch.  (12 ch 2 sps)

Rnds 2-22:  *ch 2, sc in next ch 2 sp, repeat from * around, without joining, until you reach last round. Finish with a sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends. 

 

String

Ch 65. sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each chain across. Fasten off and weave in ends. 

 

Finishing

Lay the bag flat. Insert one end of the string in a chain space of the 3^rd row from top. Weave the string in and out of every chain space around the bag.
