Crochet Men’s Manly Man Hat and Scarf Set - Free Pattern

So my husband asks me if I can crochet him a hat and a scarf. But he doesn’t want any fancy girly stuff and asks if I can do manly man crochet! So here is a pattern for the manly man hat and scarf set I made for him.

  1. How much yarn did you need to complete both the hat and scarf?

  2. What's a 6.5 hook? Is that equivalent to an H book- none of my books are in mm ..

    1. It's a 6.5mm hook. (6.5 milimeters) Metric size. That converts to US K or 10.5
Here's a link to conversion of hook sizes:

  3. What weight was the yarn you used? my scarf is looser than what I wanted. Do you have a gauge swatch?

    1. The yarn I used was #5 with a 6.5 mm hook. If your scarf is looser you can use a smaller hook to make the stitches smaller and thus tighter. Adjust the hook size until you get the desired size of stitches.
