Crochet Panda Baby Security Blanket - Free Pattern

#4 yarn (I used Caron Simply Soft)
5.5mm crochet hook


Instructions:

Blanket

With black yarn
Rnd 1: magic ring, ch 2, 12 dc
Rnd 2: ch 2, 2 dc in each dc around (24 dc)
Rnd 3: ch 2, *2dc, 1 dc around (36 dc)
Rnd 4: ch 2, *2dc, dc in next 2 sts around (47 dc)
Change to white yarn
Rnd 5: ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 3 sts around (58 dc )
Rnd 6: ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 4 sts around
Rnd 7: ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 5 sts around
Rnd 8: ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 6 sts around
Rnd 9: ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 7 sts around
Rnd 10: ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 8 sts around
Rnd 11: ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 9 sts around
Change to black yarn
Rnd 12: ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 10 sts around
Rnd 13: ch 2, *2 dc, dc in next 111 sts around


Eyes – make 2
With black yarn
1) magic ring, ch1, sc 6
2) sc, hdc, sc in each st around
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing

Head
With white yarn
1) magic ring, ch1, sc 6
2) 2sc in each – 12stitches
3) sc, 2sc around – 18sts
4) repeat row 3 – 26sts
5-9) sc around
10) sc, sc2tog – 18sts
11) repeat row 10 – 12sts
Sew the eyes in place between rnds 5-6, then stuff the head.
12) Sc2tog- 6
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing


Ears – make 2
With black yarn
1) magic ring, ch1, sc 4
2) 2sc in each – 8sts
3) sc in each
Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew ears to head.

Finishing: Embroider a triangle in black yarn between the eyes to make the nose. Make a straight line down from the nose and then sew a line to make the mouth. Sew head to center of blanket.
