ReplyDeleteHello Kim, I'm stuck on Round 8. Do I skip 2 stitches after the dc:
Delete*5dc in next st, skip 2 sts, DC IN THE NEXT ST, repeat from *around.
Or do I dc then in the NEXT STITCH crochet 5dc? (this would be 6 DC in a row)
Thank you- Kathy
You start row 8 with Ch 1, and 3 dc in same stitch as join. Then Skip 2 sts. Dc in next st, then skip 2 sts. *You're then going to make 5 dc in the next stitch (all 5dc in the same stitch - this makes the shell pattern), skip the next 2 sts, and then 1dc in next st. Repeat from * around. End with 2 dc in the 1st stitch (to complete the 1st shell). Join with sl st to top of 1st dc.
DeleteThank you for responding. I'm understanding the instructions but it doesn't feel right.
DeleteAfter I crochet the 5 dc in the the same stitch, skip 2 stitches, 1dc in the next stitch, DO I SKP 2 stitches then repeat from *5dc in...... ? Otherwise there will be 6 dc stitches in a row ( 1dc, 5dc in the next, skip 2stitches, 1dc, 5dc, skip 2) I hope this makes sense :(
No. You skip 2 stitches each side of the dc and each side of the 5dc.
Delete*skip 2 sts. 5 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, dc in next st. Repeat from * around.
So it's skip 2, 5 dc in next stitch, skip 2, dc in next stitch, skip 2, 5 dc in next st, skip 2 etc
Thank you so much - That makes more sense. I can continue!
DeleteShouldn't the repeat pattern say: *5 dc in the next stitch, skip the next 2 sts, and then 1dc in next st., SKIP 2 STS AND Repeat from * around.
Is this for a child or an adult?
ReplyDeleteFor an adult. Size is as stated in pattern:
